Joycelyn Barkers-Woode is a faith-driven entrepreneur and founder of Heaven’s Touch Spa & Wellness. Born and raised in Ghana, she served as a police officer before moving to the United States to pursue a career in healthcare guided by her nurturing heart and desire to care for others. While working as a health care provider at Mary Washington Hospice, a patient once told her, “Your hands feel like heaven.” That moment became a calling. Joycelyn transitioned into massage therapy, discovering that her gift for comforting others was not just a skill — it was a purpose. After graduating from National Massage Therapy Institute, Joycelyn worked at a spa for 7 years learning, and studying the spa industry very well and asking God for directions. Joycelyn became confident to establish Heavens Touch Spa & Wellness in 2016. Joycelyn’s attention to her clients' needs led her to collaborate with other wellness and beauty professionals to bring their expertise, which enabled her to expand to a full spa service to better serve her community. Today, Heaven’s Touch Spa & Wellness is a reflection of her faith, compassion, and belief that your God-given gifts can become both ministry and a thriving business to serve people.
